ZL1 headers question

I currently have a 2020 ZL1 with factory headers still and a Borla ATAK cat-back exhaust system. A buddy of mine recently sold his ZL1 and wants to sell me his American Racing long tube headers for next to nothing. Obviously I can't install them as they sit with the Borla cat back I have, but is there any way to modify them so that it would work?

I initially had the Borla Sport system with stock headers. Shop was able to adapt the full borla catback system to meet up with the ARH midpipe slip over fittings.

You just have to lay all the parts out and see what it looks like. I started with AWE axleback, added AWE link pipes, then did ARH headers and X-pipe, then added resonators. They aren’t specifically designed to mate up but after an hour with a cutoff wheel and the band clamps that came with the systems I made it work.

As long as you do not remove the cats, a good muffler/exhaust shop will be able to fabricate the necessary connections. Keep in mind that you will need a tune and that a quality set of plug wire sleeves are a good investment.
