Exactly. I'd put the $130k toward something like a '70 Chevelle or something will will hold it's value or gain in value.

No one thought the 2002 ZL1 Camaros done by GMMG would be a good investment either.
Ok, so someone bought a car 20 years ago and stuck it in a garage. That sounds fun.

Different strokes. That wasn't the debate though.

True, but if I put $50+K into other investments in 2002 I would be a lot better off than $150K

No doubt. That has pretty much always been the case when talking about cars as investments. But, some folks just enjoy owning a rare care and are willing to take that trade off in return to do so.

I mean, I have a customer that has 50+ cars in his collection(including the ZL1 pictured above) and I can promise you that he gets much more enjoyment from those cars rather than having that money invested into something that he can't touch and see every day.

I've been looking a 70 Chevelle SSes with LS6 manual. $110 to $130 will get a very nice ride.

lol.. no kidding.. if only I had a spare $130k... I'd own one. My other thread about that ZL1 would be null and void and I'd be all over the Chevelle.

I'm a few years out but if I'm a good boy ....

I haven't owned a classis muscle car in more than 10 years. I've got an itch to get one again so the extinction of ICE is motivation to focus in another direction

To bad the Yenkos are so damn ugly, lol. The badging/emblems/etc is all just... atrocious. The only thing that looks decent is the side lettering on the rear quarter panel.

Right over the state line. This 396 SS 4-speed has documentation.

If you ask me, I've been good, if you ask my wife, she may have a different story.

Look you can get two of those for just about the same price of that one Camaro. Crazy... The one thing with cars like that "for me"... I like modern conveniences in my autos. Those old classic muscle cars are sweet, but I'd have to own one along side a modern muscle car like ours... I'd be more of a resto-mod guy I think. Update something like that with all modern suspension, brakes, fuel injection etc.. I'd take the Chevelle to car shows. That shop does look like a nice place to go spend a cold winter day this winter though. May have to make my way down there.

We all have our own thresholds for what we would or would not pay for <pick a nameplate>. One hour spent browsing bringatrailer.com will make it exceedingly clear that there are more than a few willing to blow right by our own thresholds.
