What do you all do for winter?

Just curious, this is my first winter with this car and want to make sure I do what I can. I know about fresh fuel, fresh filters etc...but what about the rest? I was reading that convertibles should NOT be put up on jack stands. Any help would be appreciated.

I was actually going to post the same thing lol. My motor is coming apart this winter for heads & a cam plus some other tinkering. No jack stands. I do put a few extra psi in the tires. Cars sit on dealership lots for months without jack stands.

You can find a lot by searching this site, and get a lot of conflicting opinions.

I've been storing my 2010 SS for 6 months every winter, and I keep it simple.

Fresh fuel with Sta-bil.
An oil change shortly before storage.
Tires inflated to 40 psi.
Battery tender.
No food anywhere in the garage or car.
Mouse bait and mouse traps in the garage.

You do not need to put the car on jack stands. Your tires will not get flat spots, and your suspension is not designed to hang down for 6 months either.

Thanks. I have been putting mint into panty hose and sticking it through out the car. Rodents and bugs dont like the smell.

I just wash and wax mine then put it under the cover, fill it full of fuel and put Decon out in the shop. I’m lucky that they don’t hardly use much salt here so a few times between Dec-February I’ll bust it out and put a few miles on it. No tender needed for me. Never had a problem with tires flat spotting. I will usually let it warm up a little longer in the cold months before I take it out and get on it. I feel for you northern guys, I don’t know how you do a full 6 months with no Camaro.

I live in Los Angeles so I don't have this problem. I find that I get my best performance when it's really hot outside. My Toyos seem to grip hard.
I tried the super grippy Toyos and they did great but only lasted a year.

Bought some Flat Stoppers(go to their website) and they worked great the last 2 winters. I put fabric sheets sheets in the trunk and floor.. Stuff the exhaust with rags (to block any little Jerrys from getting in) BUT WRITE A NOT TO YOURSELF THAT YOU'VE DONE THIS AS TO NOT FORGET THEY ARE THERE. PUT THIS ON YOUR STEERING WHEEL. Of course, if you don't want to keep turning the car on every few days and damaging the motor by a slow death, buy a trickle charger to charge the battery is a better way to do and easy to use. Before you put her away, get an oil change and fill the gas tank. Hope this helps.

Other than routine maintenance does anyone have any mods planned you would like to share. While my motor is apart I am going to do a coil pack relocation & clean up the engine bay.

He's done of lot of this on his 2014 1LE and it is supper sweet. Probably has album pics on his profile. Also, he's in Syracuse so you may know him already.

Drive mine year round, even occasionally in 12" of snow. Get yourself a good set of Blizzak tires and drive her.

Drive it. Put snow tires on it and wave to all of the soccer moms who get stuck in their SUV’s
