I think the crossed flags are too tied to the Corvette nowadays, even though there is some precedent being on the Camaro a long time ago.

Showing my age, but something else I'd like to see again: chrome emblem on the rear, "Camaro by Chevrolet".

I like touches of the old as well. I put a "built by the number 1 team Tonawanda" vintage valve cover sticker on top of the engine cover of the LT1.....because it was!!

No, in the very early days for maybe 1 or 2 years the SS was just a styling accessory option package and could have been gotten in a slow 6 cyl. complete with crossed flags. Soon the SS was strictly a performance package.

With or without milling out another 20 cubic inches from your 376 first?

You're thinking of the RS package.

The SS was always and only high performance V8 models, beginning in 1967 with the SS 350 and SS 396. Even if you equipped your '67 with a 283 it wasn't an SS. Only 350 and 396.

Now in the late 70s (around '77-79) somewhere Chevy got cute with the Z28 badge and until the 5th gen came out in 2010 used Z28 on all V8 models and SS on only certain high performance iterations of the Z28.

Sanity prevailed after 2010 as the Z28 has been reserved for only limited production track only versions as it originally was intended in '67, and the SS is again the proper designation for V8 high performance.

Yeh, that was a classy badging. Some came with them mount near the edge of the hood. Funny how Chevy can't figure out how some of the simplest things are just cool and may be enough to make that extra sell.
