I normally agree with your preference, but it becomes a problem when the valet sees a group of silver cars and doesn’t know which is the Camry...lol
Old guys like some of us reminisce about the the sparkle of chrome which is more rare than a Democrat that’s with me having a firearm.
Back in the day, I would use a Q-tip to dig out the wax residue in my chrome emblems to keep them from pitting.
The scripted Camaro was on the front valance, and a Scripted Camaro with a smaller by Chevrolet was on the trunk, unless you had a spoiler on the gen1....now all you can see is that it has a bow tie, that EVERYONE wants to pay extra to downplay the appearance....in gen1 they had to get the word out on this new pony car.
But what you really wish you had if you didn’t, was the fender art. Having the engine displacement and with it an SS emblem told the world that you had a special car. Those SS emblems on gen1 were bad ass, and I truly wish it would have been part of the 50th anniversary edition.
My vote would be old school crossed flags instead of the camaro crest... it seems obvious to not have to bend over and squint to see if it’s an SS or RS.... I think perhaps a larger SS376 or RS emblem in the rear where the bow tie is now.
I kept an extra SS396 emblem stuck into my pegboard over my workbench.
All that said, I except change, but a few things from the old school we can’t go back to, but we wish there was a way.....

How about more debate....
On the gen1 Camaro; if you had a SS/RS what was the correct emblem on the fender?

Better believe I do. And the guy I voted for is trying his best to help naturally aspirated small block pushrod V8s survive.

That's one thing I liked about my Mustang, it didn't say Ford anywhere on it. The Mustang and Camaro are iconic cars. You don't need to stick a bunch of badges all over it to let people know what it is.

Now in the late 70s (around '77-79) somewhere Chevy got cute with the Z28 badge and until the 5th gen came out in 2010 used Z28 on all V8 models and SS on only certain high performance iterations of the Z28.

Sanity prevailed after 2010 as the Z28 has been reserved for only limited production track only versions as it originally was intended in '67, and the SS is again the proper designation for V8 high performance.
No you are wrong

Starting for the 1962 model year, the Impala SS was an appearance package limited to hardtop coupe and convertible coupe models, available with all engines in the Impala series starting with the base 235 cu in (3.9 L), 135 hp (101 kW; 137 PS) inline-6 through 1967, though the big-block engines and heavy-duty parts could still be ordered. From 1967 to 1969, an additional model, the SS427, was available.

As I clarified earlier if you read all the posts, when I posted that I was talking specifically about the Camaro.

I figured since this is a Camaro forum I wouldn't need to initially, but I'm obviously wrong.

I like this badge, and think it looks better than the current fender badge.
