Hydro Carbon Fiber

Good Morning all... Waiting on my C7 to be built and browsing all the mods that are out there. Can someone explain what Hydro Carbon Fiber is and is it different from or not even real CF at all please? Thanks a lot

It provides the decorative finishing process called Hydrographics or Water Transfer Printing, which can finish & decorate any hard surface such as metals, plastics, glass, fiberglass, composites and any other material that isn't going to be harmed by being immersed in water. It can make it look like an assortment of finishes, such as carbon fiber, granite, straight black wood grain, brushed aluminum, and more.

From the web:
"The Hydro Carbon Finishing Process

We take your supplied parts or purchase from manufacturers the factory original parts which are then processed by Southeast Carbon Works Inc. exclusive 5 finishing steps:

- All parts are sanded down and smoothed out for any imperfections and are carefully inspected.
- We then prime the products to be ready to go to the paint booth.
- The next step is applying the PPG paint color of your choice or base color.
- The next step is to dip the product in the imersion tank to apply the carbon fiber film pattern.
- After the pattern is dry and baked on we then apply 3 coats of PPG clearcoat and polish to become a show stopping, deep, guaranteed long lasting finish."
Here is an example from a local shop I used for my Camaro's cosmetic mods... A hydro carbon fiber finish on areas of the engine cover, the strut brace and the fuse box cover.
