WTB: ZL1 1lE Rear Seat Back (I am Dumb)

In the midst of changing the battery I closed the trunk... I tried connecting new battery, jump pack, battery cables to front post in engine bay and can not get the trunk to pop... either with key fob, trunk button or door trunk release.. nothing working.

I tried to jimmy back seat with pry tools. I think my last resort is cutting seat back and manually releasing back seat with push button to get to emergency trunk release.

Thus I will be in need of Zl1 1LE seat back black with red stitching. Anyone selling?

There is a way to manually release the backseat down by using a panel tool, or a slim Jim of some sort, I saw a diagram somewhere on this site, but I don’t remember where. Maybe someone else will chime in

I found this on the release

Why don’t you just remove the back seat.

I am sure you’ve tried, but in the video, it looks like the button may have to be pushed towards or away from the clasp

Its just tough getting leverage on the button or knowing if I'm hitting the correct piece

Just get a non ZL1 1LE rear seat. Exactly the same and fits the same as the 1LE but has the factory pull tab in place.

Only difference is you're going to gain 1 ounce of weight......that might slow you down so your choice.

I was able to use a stubby flat head and work my arm between the package tray and the back of the seat on the drivers side. Once in I pressed in where the catch is and it popped open. It was not comfortable but it beats tearing things up.

Sorry if that was already tried, but could you not connect an external battery to the connectors under the hood, and then push the opening trunk button? I’m assuming you have access to the driver’s seat and therefore can open the hood.

Best,

Geoff
