Man, I saw a new post in the Z/28 forum and thought it was something new haha.

It's been real quite on the Z/28 front for a while. I'm guessing the car is pretty much finalized. Just waiting for the right moment to show it off.

Someone should make a poll so that we can guess the reveal date ...

Do we think the powerplant (vehicle) has to be street legal?

Dont you? its not coming from the COPO team, its right out of the GM line, so it will have to be street legal.

I don't think there will be much more discussion until we see more prototype pictures or the car is revealed.

I think it does ... but selling it as a track-only car is an interesting idea.

One cool extension of that would be to create a showroom stock spec racing series.

If the car is meant to be on a track and will be a low volume vehicle. Why worry about emissions? 2/3s of buyers will modify them in a way that would nullify emissions anyway.
A Track Only car would open lots of avenues for GM to go down.

Wasn't GM trying to do that with the Z51? I thought I remember them doing a presentation on some new racing class using C7 Z51s.

It is EASY to breathe on the LS7 a little and get BIG, reliable horsepower. All I did on my 08 Z06 was a cam, headers and a tune (home-made with HP Tuners) and I dyno'd 575 at the wheels on an OLD mustang Dyno. It would not hook up til I got to third gear. Katech 'Torquer' Cam and Melrose monster-flow headers without cats. A buddy and I did it in his garage in 12 hours.
