Scratched Wheel, removing balance weight

Should I be disappointing or is this par for the course?

Had a Goodyear Service Center install my new Supercar 3's and each wheel had at least one scratch where they removed the old weights. Don't they have non-marring tools to remove these? (The blob above the scratches is just adhesive.)

That is the very reason I remove the weights before I take it to the Tire store. I use a plastic trim tool with a hair dryer to warm up the glue.

Smart!

You'd think a tire shop that's done this half a billion times would look at a nice wheel like that and say, you know what, we should take a little extra care removing these.
ok, i'm delusional.

I would not be happy with that. I may remove mine before getting new tires in the near future as well.

As stated above I always remove and Goo-Gone before taking them in. Any member on here should own some of these for emblem and sticky things removal. Even if you're using a plastic tool to remove make sure to put a business card or plastic piece under the opposite side of what you're prying off so it doesn't dig into the paint. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You're delusional, the dealership that I bought my car from swapped all seasons on the wheels before I drove it home, they definitely used a metal tool to pry off the weights. Factory black, you could see little silver gouges in the barrels. Frustrating. Thankfully I finally had them powder coated and they look much better.

It seems that lots of tire shops don't pay well enough to retain competent people.
