I'd guess that the rear frame rail kick-ups would be the weak point.

I used to on occasion pull a 16 ft ski boat with an '84 Monte Carlo SS that had a peg-leg rear (non-posi). I was concerned about having problems pulling the boat out on a wet boat ramp but never had a problem. Happily I have since experienced the 2nd happiest day of boat ownership, SOLD IT! Sadly the Monte is also gone:(. Wasn't very fast but looked good and drove suprising well for what is was (was a med/dark blue one). Thought they looked pretty cool together, never thought to take a picture though. I think it would look cool to pull your water toy with you 4 wheel one!

Towing isn't about power, it's about control, brakes, and suspension. My truck, with power similar to the Camaro V6, is rated to tow 8,000 pounds.

LOL, sorry to resurrect this post, but I just read

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...iew/index.html

and I was amused that this car can tow 4500+ lbs. Not a Porsche vs Camaro thread- just noted that and remembered the towing post.

Just Do It !!!

I wanted a trailer hitch for my 2010 Camaro 2SS so I found one on the internet made by Curt Manufacturing, specifically for my vehicle & I installed it myself. Still need to install wiring harness for trailer lights. Have not used hitch yet. I will use it for a bicycle rack & for my Kendon 1 bike motorcycle trailer to transport my Harley Ultra Classic Electraglide.

That hitch receiver looks brilliant!

My only observation/suggestion as an experienced trailer boater is that the automatic transmission would be much easier to handle on the ramp than a manual. After thousands of tow miles and hundreds of launches and retrievals of a 4,600 pound boat trailer rig, I wouldn't hesitate to use an auto Camaro to trailer a light-weight wave-runner type "vessel".

The only problem I can see is that you might forget that it is back there because it is so light!
