Rear end questions
I own a 2011 Camaro Ss and recently threw a rod so i dropped in a new zl1 crate engine and threw in pulleys long tube headers and cold air intake and a couple other goodies. Being that the hp definitely increased substantially i need help on what route to go in beefing up the rear because I’m not sure an Ss rear can handle the new power. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrade to 3.91 gears and get the most out of that new hp.

Based on my ‘extensive’ reading here, (ha) ZL1 half shafts will be a must. But be prepared, you’ll pretty much be building a ZL1 around that crate!

That's basically what I did. But I swapped out the parts before they broke. My garage is full of stock SS parts including the LS3 with 651 miles on it.

You must be hangin’ onto them to possibly use. I’m sure there’s some wrenches here who’d buy that stock stuff. But yeah, many pages of threads here. Sometimes, if you can afford it, it’s better to just buy it. But I know people like to build it too. I applaud those who do. Beyond my skill and patience!

You can buy a new ZL1 driveline for $4300 delivered to your door. I just did the same for my 2011 SS. It was an easy swap and beefy as all hell

It mainly depends on a couple of items, how hard are you going to push the LSA, HP/TQ, as well as how you will use the car, Race/Slicks or Street/All seasons.
ZL1 axles only work with ZL1 differential. |

I took out the stock stuff as to not break it so I can put it back in some day. I built it the way I wanted it for now. So you can kiss my ass with your buy it vs build comment. |
