Affordable clutch 14 2SS 650 CHP
I am looking for suggestions on an affordable clutch for about 650 crank Horse power. Nothing wrong with mine yet. I just made the mods last year to get to 650 havent even really driven it much yet, but I know that is quite a bit for the stocker. Anyone have experience with a twin disk? Is there a conversion or allot of work to put one in. Any input on lighter flywheels etc while I am there or other upgrades? I dont drag race I dont really beat on the car, but if I am taking it apart and can make it more street dependable I would like to. Thanks

I use the Monster twin clutch rated for 700 hp. I called monster about the clutch. I am at 600 hp now but I wanted room to grow for later. They said the twin can be rebuilt into a triple disk if I end up with more HP.
Nothing special about the install. https://monsterclutches.com/twin-lt1s-street-gto-clutch |

Having used the Centerforce DYAD XDS 8.75” twin disc clutch for five years on my last Procharger Camaro which made 825 rwhp it is under rated and will hold 650 rwhp no problem. I used this clutch for track duty and street duty and it held up just fine I highly recommend this clutch it is durable and reliable. www.centerforce.com

No matter which clutch you go with. A billet bearing support for the slave, either Tick or Monster have em. Also, remote bleeder and braided clutch line from Tick.

I tried the twin disc ZR-1 and Centerforce DYAD. Both lasted about 2000 miles, lots of racing.
Swapped the manual for a 4L80. |

I had the Centerforce DYAD 8.75” twin disc clutch for five years and I never had any clutch chattering or abnormal noise coming from my Centerforce clutch. I contacted Centerforce several times and I received top notch customer service from Centerforce and they were always willing to help out. I would get another Centerforce clutch if I decide to go manual when I do my engine rebuild.
