I cant let go of my Camaro

I was going to sell my Camaro yesterday at a high end sports car dealership but when the salesman made me an offer I couldnt do it. I test drove a new Corvette and a new Porsche while I was there. Theres something so special about a Camaro that cant be put into words. To me its really the perfect car. I was confirmed I made the right choice as I was driving home in my Camaro. I had my windows down in my car and a young woman yells all the way from her lawn on her house as I was driving by and says "I love your car"---I love the comments that come with owning a Camaro. It never gets old. Anyways Camaros are the BEST!!!

If your attached to the car why would you sell it? The new Corvette is a pretty nice car too. I also really like mine and have no plans of selling.

If you love it, keep it. Don’t do what I’ve done.. got a 2016 1SS convertible 20% off for $36k, sold at 9.6k miles for $26k trade on a ZL1 convertible ~ $67K. The Z ended up being too much for me (everything from the ground effects to power). I got almost all of my $ back on the Z because of todays market, but that also meant I paid 40K for the new LT1 I just picked up. I love this new car and it’s a keeper.

In hindsight, I should have kept the 2016. It would have had less than 20k miles on it now, while saving a few bucks.

The only thing add is that if you have an auto and wish you had a manual, have a 1SS and wish you had a 2SS, or have an older model and wish you had android auto or iPhone carplay now is the time to order what you want and make sure you get a color that you will love years later. I figure in the next year or two when more people realize that Camaros' days are numbered, it's going to spike the price. The spike is coming, especially once GM announces the future plans of the Camaro.

The thing you have to consider these days, is there are no more bargains out there. With the various shortages, cars are stupid expensive, if you can find one you like. So if you part with your baby, good luck finding another one for a descent price.

Back in the old days(2 years ago), at the end of the summer around here there were some bargains on leftover pony cars. Not anymore.

I hear you 100% and am feeling the same way. Is this objectively the best car in the world, of course not, but there is nothing else that feels quite so special. The C8 does nothing for me and neither do Porsches and BMW M cars and AMGs even though on paper they may not even be in the same league.

I like the C8, but don't love it. Something about the rear end and tail light section just bothers me. Like it is too squished or something. I have owned some Corvettes over the years but I prefer the form factor of the Camaro at this point in my life. In my area I see more C8s than Camaros and I never see a ZL1 around.

For the old guys who read this it will make you smile. One of my coworkers came up to me and said "you have one of he toughest looking cars I have ever seen". I admit it just appeals to the crowd who still remember a road runner with a matt black hood and a 426 hemi under the hood these Camaros are not as common as the mustang and for my taste offer a better ride. While I actually will probably buy a C8 I agree it will not look as "tough" as my Camaro but it will handle a whole lot different and for the most part, better.

This! In the 4 years that I have owned my ZL1, I have seen 4 others on the road. That is it.

My buddy at Hendrick Chevrolet was asking me when I plan to get a C8. I told him "when they put a real manual in it". He said, that probably won't ever happen. My reply was, then I probably won't ever own one.

Amazing that powers that be in GM don't understand that.

I mean according to the sales stats they do actually sell ZL1s. Most of them are probably asleep in the garage or at the track.
