Everybody knew they will perfect the interior, chassis and tech features for the car but didn't know what to expect for the exterior. Now that I've seen it, I'd like to see more color combinations for the exterior before I make a final judgement. As of now though side profile looks too much like Tahoe/Yukon and front fascia(blacked out one) looks too much like an XT6. I don't like that.

Honestly the current gen Escalade has one of the best exterior designs on an SUV and it has a distinct look and prestigious/flashy ambiance to it. This one has less flashiness which I don't agree with. Even the current gen Tahoe/Yukon look really good from an exterior standpoint and better than the new ones, lol.

But they had to make some changes , so.

The exterior is pretty toned down. Not bad though. The interior looks very well done.

This thing is begging for the 4.2 Blackwing.

I'm a GM guy at heart but I'm a car guy also and the Navigator is striking but it's a ripoff of the Land Rover's look by and large on the outside. It's a looker.

This Escalade will continue to be the classic hip SUV especially dressed in black that it has traditionally enjoyed being for decades but I'm glad Lincoln made Cadillac step up its game just the same.

Very classy! I'm certain they will sell thousands of them.

All of the refreshed SUVs are on par with each other in terms of looks. The pricier GMC and Cadillac will have more trim features and possibly wheel choices than the Chevy. Where this Cadillac shines is obviously the interior. It has been a close call up to this point, as most brands could feature a luxurious leather appointed interior. With this new example, the Cadillac seems to have regained some of its flavor from the past, such as innovative technical advances that have been tastefully placed (steering wheel strobe especially).

Nice job. Edit: Cadillac gets it. We need some type of shifter folks. Push button shifting doesn't cut it in a truck or suv. Even an electronic joystick is a welcomed sight in this interior.

As for the interior, I think they are close, but I'd give the nod to the Cadillac for its look plus some of those super awesome features puts it over the top.

Hope it sells well.
Agreed. I think that interior is amazing, I can't wait to see it and sit in it.

The exterior though, for a luxury SUV it just seems very toned down and I guess simple is the word I am looking for maybe. It doesn't have that wow factor to me that I think a luxury SUV should have.

All right I found something I don't like. Or at least find odd.

Cadillac started using fabric to cover various panels like the doors, a la the Escala concept. Even places where it would've been more than acceptable to use a quality soft touch plastic like the glove box is fabric.

But then, we have the center console and shifter surround.

Plastic. Wtf.

Exterior is ho hum. Love the display and super cruise is a major selling point.

They are just so darn expensive.

If the center console trim is made from hard plastic, I would agree with your observation. However, it appears to be made from soft-touch plastic, which, in my opinion, is acceptable.

While I am very impressed with the initial photographs and videos of the interior, a few of the switchgear items look out of place in this price category. For example, the steering wheel paddles and tilt/telescoping steering wheel switch are clearly shared with other less expensive GM offerings. Unacceptable.

Agreed. And as long as there are people buying them, the prices will continue to go through the roof. In 50 years, a Chevy Sonic-like car will cost $90-100k.

I read that they didn't put carpet in places where your arm may rest, like the console there may be one of those places. It would dirty up in a hurry if they used carpet where your arm may be resting.

But I don't actually know if anyone would place their arm there.

What evidence do you offer to support such a preposterous statement?
