Best advice you can have is - put an LS in it.

Pretty sure anything but the factory six will require an aftermarket ECU. Also pretty sure there must be 2JZ swap forums that would have way better information on this topic. Now, if you want to turbo the factory six, there is quite a bit of information on here about that.

This has been done at least once before.
Maybe you can track down the owner of this car for details. https://www.facebook.com/turbokingtv...1259659656945/

I’ve seen that video before pretty cool they got it to work but definitely not something I’d ever consider. You won’t likely get much help here. Most of us are LS guys so if you swapping anything else into a v6 car you aren’t likely to get what you are after. Im personally not a fan of weed eater sounds coming from my exhaust, but to each his own. I agree, over all definitely a down grade for the money and time invested.

In that context, I can’t think of a better build by all means. I too hope you keep this board updated as you progress!

Keeping the instrument cluster and gauges will be extremely difficult. It might be possible but will take a lot of time and effort to figure out how. Most of that is reported over the data network and I don't know of a simple plug in to make it all talk without the stock ecm. You would probably find it easier to set up aftermarket gauges.
