This used to happen "back in the day" with bargain headers with thin mounting flanges. Good quality headers now have a pretty thick flange material and won't warp. My Stainless Power ones have been on the car 9 years now and have been off and on several times. Good luck.
Thanks for the input JEWLD.

Here’s a question though, let’s say budget “speed engineering” headers made of the same stainless steel with same flange thickness as higher end brands; will the cheaper one have a higher likelihood of warping for some reason?

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but I can think of a reason that stainless flanges of similar thickness would be prone to warping different amounts. I guess the actual shape of the flange might make a little difference.

If you are asking about Speed Engineering headers in particular, mine have been good so far (4 years but not a lot of miles)

I use these soft aluminum layered gaskets , they will conform to any irregular surface..

No, they will be the same as the others. The flanges on these "newer" headers are pretty thick, more than the "old school" stuff we had back then, and they were not even stainless, but just regular steel. I haven't heard any bad about the Speed Engineering headers at all.

dang tough luck on the Manzo, i can definitely see warped flanges causing issue. I run the manzo brand ones as well for a few years now and have used felpro gaskets with no issue as far as leaking goes.

Well I’m glad you had a good experience with them. overall their build quality isn’t bad. I may have just gotten a lemon. I’m going with Texas speed this time in hopes QC is better.

BBK’s Looking good. Yes OEM gaskets are the best way to go given your flanges are straight, they last a lifetime.
