That's what I run in the Killer Tomato....3.73 seems to be the best gear for the 350

The 1980 -1981 Second gens have always been my favorite. Probaly the most "decorated", and colorful of all the years. Here's my pride & joy !

depends on what engine and what you are doing, I have 4.10s and like them better than the 3.73s I had in it before

Hey, I have a couple of those too, 2nd gen convertibles that is. Here is my factory stock 81Z28:

I also have a non-NCE that I am building for my daughter.

and to answer the first post question, run a gear that your engine will handle. I know many people that have stuck in 3.73 or 4.10 and the engine is not built to handle running at 3000+ rpm for a long time and they kill the engine.

I would go 373 at the most unless you are planning on dropping in a Tremek 5-speed? I have a 373 in my 1970 Z28 and that is good enough! In my 1969 Z28 I have 410's and it takes me out when it comes time to use the car for the Power Tour or going on the highway for that matter! If you are going to the drag strip every week do the 410. If not do a 355 or 373 rear end. Just my 2 cents. Jeff
