ZL1 v. SRT Demon 170

I assume this hp number is crank hp. If yes, then wheel is 900?

Correct if it's not underrated as some think it might be.

The king of all muscle cars, be all end all. Dodge gets it, end of story. Really no point of a comparison with a ZL-1. Apples and Sledgehammer.

I disagree. There's not much difference between them if the ZL1 has a comparable setup. I'm pretty sure there are ZL1 2650 Eth cars running 9.00's.

May as well throw in a modified Miata or 240z if you're comparing a modded Zl1.

Not from the factory with a warranty...

Ok, from the factory, the Demon is the fastest drag car because no other manufacturer builds a pure drag car, and 1LE is fastest track coupe. ZR1 might be faster than both.

That's fine. Let Dodge "take" the 1/4 and 0-60 times...I personally don't care. I'll take my ZL1 over that thing ANY day of the week. I prefer a car that can go fast in a straight line AND handle/corner like a champ...not some heavy boat that corners like a dump truck and can only go straight..yes for SOME that wil be good enough, but for MOST, people want something that handles also.

I'm biased but can we say that the ZL1 is better when you consider both strip and track?

Stock for stock? Apples to oranges comparison

Modded ZL1 vs a stock Demon? Never understand the conversation of a stock car vs a modded car. Still apples to oranges comparison.

1 is made for taking turns quickly and 1 is made for going fast in a straight line.

But your car would have no issue with beating this 2nd gen Demon.

What about the COPO Camaro or Ford Cobra Jet? Those are pure drag vehicles from the factory. The Demon isn't a pure drag car since it is a street legal vehicle.

Yea we're talking street legal cars. I was just saying with the addition of a few factory parts the ZL1 could be as fast

JSH, I’m certain your car is a badass car, and I totally get your defense of the Camaro, but, and there really is a but here….. you simply can’t make the comparison. This Demon is almost like taking a COPO car and getting it through the corporate BS and licensed. It’s factory designed, engineered, and 100% most importantly validated with a warranty. No aftermarket combination will ever have that. From the carbon wheels to the complete redesign of virtually all drivetrain and engine components, emissions, etc. it even comes with a pic point for the Direct Connection parachute.
This is exactly why the car is commanding such crazy markups.

I would take the ZL1 all day everyday too. If it’s gift I’m taking the Dodge, selling and buying a ZL1 and investing the difference. I do like the looks of the Challengers and what Dodge has done with them. But I really would have liked if they shrunk size down to 8/10th of what they are and focused more on handling for turns too.
