Magnuson 2300 and Bolton 700+ rwhp

Finally put the car on the dyno to get a baseline. I’m running a Maggy 2300, 3.15 upper pulley (stock 80mm is 3.2), 2 inch ARH full system, 103 inlet, and rotofab big gulp. Setup made 12 lbs on the dyno. Car made 703 rwhp and 709 rwtq on 93 and NO meth. Fueling looks good here and I will work on timing tables on the street/track. Car will take another 3 degrees easy, but with the fuel limitation of the stock cam I want to inch timing in and watch fuel pressure. Air/fuel was half point rich also, but I’ll clean that up when I get on the street and can watch pressure.

Air temp and MAT temps is where this thing shines. Temps are much more manageable over stock blower. Very minor climb during the dyno pull and recovers well, something the stock blower doesn’t do well on the dyno.

I think the car will make 740 rwhp range with fueling and timing cleaned up. As long as stock fuel system allows it. Lol. With the pulley it’s running I’m not even scratching the surface of what this blower is capable of. Plenty of room to grow!

UPDATE- Low side starting falling pressure past 700. Commands 73 and fell to 68 psi. Adding JMS voltage booster I got from Ted Jannetty to take care of low side issue. Then back to tweaking.

Over 700 whp is fantastic. I think it’s a great balance between power and usability. I was going to spend the cash and go with a 2650 and cam to push to 850whp. Would have been pretty easy too. After some thinking, how much power can I put down? So we opted to go for anything over 700. I’m going the ported SC cam route. I know heat soak is an issue but I don’t mind waiting 30-45min between 1/4 mile passes.

With a cam you will not have to get aggressive with pulley to make the power as the cam will do the work. These cars are a lot of fun in these power range. Lol

I think you'll be really close to that. Those are good baseline numbers and anything over 700 makes a dam fast ride.

Are you tuning it yourself?

Mike.

I am. I’ve been tuning for 19 years.

Thanks again for the help with the blower! Your buddy was great to deal with!

I'm extremely impressed with your results so far! Are you running any type of low end fuel voltage booster, or did you just bolt on the 2300, headers, rotofab and sent it?

SWEET!!! I was considering ported OEM and such but that recovery and soak were things that kept concerning me. It's too bad there isn't a kit I can run here (except for the big brother 2650 )

Stock low side. An aux kit or voltage booster wouldn’t hurt though. So far it’s good, but I’m on the line for sure.

Well hopefully it will lessen the duty cycle when you pull some fuel out. What is your target air/fuel? I feel that most people tune them 11.2-11.8 for optimum safety.

I stay around 11.8 or so. The direct inj stuff likes being little leaner. Some are doing 12.2-12.5 and having luck, I’m just not that guy. Lol

I have Roto fab dry, borla 2nd cats removed catback Atak mufflers. If I added a cam(Mild) later no headers, would the high and low injection be fine ? The finishing touch would be the lope.
