Dark are clear tail lights?

Hey folks. Looking to change the tail lights on my Camaro. I've reviewed many threads, pictures, shopping choices, etc. I only see an option for the "Dark" tail light kit. Can someone explain if there is a difference in dark vs clear? I want the the clear look for the summit white. Difference noted in pictures. So is there a difference or are these the same lights due to angle? Thanks for the advice and help!

I believe it's the angle and lighting in the picture making the top image appear darker than reality. I have the dark and they have a clear look to them, same as many others I've seen, identical to the bottom image.

As JGiovando said, it's the same tails. The GM Workbench for the package on my car stated "Dark Finish" taillamps and they are identical to the clear ones in the bottom most of the time but they do look darker at the right angle. Just to make things more confusing, some people apply tint film for their tails and these really do look darker all the time. Some of the references/pictures you see could be that as well.

Just two more pics from my car to further underscore the point JGiovando and Frankie18SS made. These tails aren't dark per se, they're somewhere between clear and medium gray.

Those look great, Arpad. May I ask where you purchased yours?

If you do a search, eBay has them (new) for $399 shipped. That’s the cheapest I have found them. Search GM Part Number 84136777.

I bought them from the good old trunk monkey dealership as a package deal with the 3rd brake light for $525 w/free shipping, but that package is no longer available.

The part numbers are indeed 84136777 (and 84330249 for the brake light, you'll definitely want that as well). You should be able to source these easily from other online GM dealerships or eBay.

Wildhammer still has the packages for the tails plus the brake light. A lot of people, including me, have had great experiences with Matt.
