Travis, what kind of power are you wanting to make and what boost level since you said 15 was too high. If you are using the stock lower your boost would be less then Mikes with the Z06. So I ran the stock lower and 80mm pulley and was at 13-14 psi. I would start with the 90mm and maybe have an 85 available. They are very easy to change so you could actually have a street pulley and track pulley but you would have to have HP tuners to switch tunes. Ted would be a good tuner since he's done several Zl1 2650s now.

In the summer months with my current setup, my lap times would increase up to a couple of seconds. I figured the improvements of the 2650 would help reduce the IATs to alleviate some of this hot weather slowdown. I know I could also run higher octane fuel and adjust the temperature modifier tables, but I prefer to stay with 93 and keep a good safety margin in the tune. For the boost, I'm thinking 11-13 psi. I certainly don't want to run into cooling issues. I have HP Tuners, so switching tunes wouldn't be an issue. The main reason I care about picking the correct pulley is dyno time in my area isn't always easy to get. I waited for months to get my SS on the dyno. I don't want to finally get the car on the dyno only to discover I need to order a new pulley to get the boost where I want it. I'd much prefer to get it right the first time, which shouldn't be hard to do, but there's a lot of conflicting information out there. It'd be really nice if Magnuson would have some sort of published baseline for the different pulleys.

Sienar did close to those numbers on our stock Zl1 tune with 91 octane. Just the mods you have listed would get you to your goal on 93 octane pretty easily.

Yes, I was at 640.7 with one modification - the 2650. Stock everything else and a 90mm pulley.

Remember I'm completely stock, cats, exhaust etc. If you're running the stage 2 front cooler system, you won't have any cooling issues with a ZL1 at 15psi. |

I use and stock all of the parts in question. I can remote tune it no dyno needed we can log runs on the road coarse and tune to the way you use it. 203-753-7223 Ted.

Im interested to know why you liked the SC3R’s more than the R7’s?

I get a lot more fast laps from the G3Rs. The average grip throughout the life of the tire seems much better than the R7s. Once the cost of the tires is brought into the equation, it's a no-brainer for me.

And how many track sessions or track days are you getting out of each set of the R7’s and SC3R’s? Do you drive hard and is your track tough on tires? Not trying to hijack the thread, but very interested in your experience with the tires since I’m going to be using them this upcoming track season. Thanks again.

"Driving hard" is subjective. Here's a video. You won't be disappointed with either tire, but I honestly like the SC3Rs a little better for HPDEs. Even if the cost were the same I'd buy SC3Rs.

Almost forgot to ask, what camber are you running at?

Looks to me like the 90mm is too large of pulley for the 2650...it's being under driven. You will likely have to shift around 7-7200rpm to stay up in good power.
