I suppose you could do it on race ramps or jack stands but far easier to use a lift if at all possible. A lot more frustrating to work on your back than standing comfortably beneath it. And yes you can get it done over a weekend. I had never done headers before so I was super cautious and meticulous. Spent 2 days on mine, probably 10 hours which is way longer than needed.
