Hey All...Hello from Oklahoma.

I just purchased a new 2024, black convertible Camaro and I have a question.

What do you use on the grill...where the Chevy bow tie is located... plastic grill?

Detail spray? What brand of detail spray or protectant do you use or recommend?
Something other than detail spray...remember just the plastic grill..not the flat plastic parts.

For cleaning, other than a wash, I use a Waterless wash to get into all those little areas. Since it's plastic and you don't want anything 'stiff' or hard to scratch it, waterless wash works great on a soft towel to clean that area.

Best protection would be once cleaned and shined up... ceramic coat it.

Ceramic + Hydrophobic coatings on the wheels and grillework are paramount for a) keeping them generally dust and dirt free, and b) making them very easy to clean when they do get dirty. Once those are on the grillework, you want to use a diluted coating-safe detail spray.

I personally like the homebrew "Magic Elixir":
20 parts distilled water
4 parts Carpro Reload
1 part Carpro Ech20

The dilution is to prevent streaking on strongly hydrophobic coatings. For uncoated surfaces, increase the amounts of Reload and Ech20.

Most ceramic products can go over plastic trim.

I really like how TEC582 makes the Camaro plastic trim look, and if you want you can put it on the rest of the car if you desire. Very easy to use, its a staple in most detail and autobody shops. Doesn't last a long time, but if you are cleaning your car every few weeks, it'll work well for you and you can buy it in gallons if you desire.

If you want something long term, look into real ceramic products that come in a small glass jar. DIYDetail, Ceracoat, Adams... there are probably literally hundreds of brands out there.

If you want something in between, economical and easy to apply , I like the TurtleWax Hybrid Pro Flex Wax. I haven't used it on my Camaro yet, but the plastic on the sides of my wife's escape look great with that as a topper.
