C6 Vette Questions for Vette people in the know
I've been thinking about getting a nice used 05 on up C6, with low miles. I'm not real familiar with the LS2. Was there any issues or problems with the 05-07 cars? I can find them a little cheaper than the 08 on up, LS3 versions. Besides the obvious 30 HP, was there many improvements on the 08 cars?
I really like the ability to control my IPod from the dash on my SS, like being able to select playlists, songs etc. From what year is this available on the Vette? Thanks |

08's had the obvious-LS3. Also a stronger rear end and a much better interior. The 08 up are the one's to have now. I had a 05 C6 and my C5 Z06 would blow the doors off of that thing. Go with a 08 or up or a 02-04 C5 Z06-fantastic cars stock.

Good rule of thumb with the Vette market is to buy as new as your budget allows. I previously owned an '05 Z51 M6 car and had no issues with it. The LS2 is a great motor and with a set of long tubes, cold air, and tune it was a blast! Mine made 383 at the wheel with just those mods. The only thing to watch out for is the rear housing on the '05's is a weaker casting.

On Ls2's they had a problem with the harmonic balancer sliding back into the block. Going through now actually but it's no biggie to fix, most people are going with after market balancers to fix and or to avoid having this issue

Yep, I forgot about that. That's actually a TSB I believe. I know I bought mine from it's original owner he had already had that completed.
