Can someone please tell me...

Can someone please tell me how to check the hydraulic oil fluid level for the convertible top? Where is the reservoir? It seems the Chilton manual says I have to remove the back seats? Seems like a lot of trouble just to check the level. Does anyone know of an easier way? Thank you.
