Just recently added a set of black rims to my collection! Give you an idea of what 2019 OEM wheels look like on my Ashen Gray Camaro. My 2014 came with the exact wheels you are running, I have since added 4 more sets!

Different style of wheels really changes the looks of our rides.

Costly if you have to purchase TPMS sensors and then mount and balance, alone your looking at couple hundred dollars.

I decided to run the Autel MX-Sensor TPMS (using the 1 sensor) which is one sensor that can be used with both 315 and 433 MHz, programable. Yesterday I purchased 6 new MX-Sensors for $21.00 each... not a bad price for a quality sensor. I also own an Autel TS501 programmer. Programming takes all of 2 seconds! The TS501 tool also have other features like clearing some codes and checking batteries in your sensors as well as key fobs.

Just saying...

Larry

Wow, Looks really awesome Larry! I know it won't be cheap(especially with the sensors) but I definitely want to go black with the rims. Thanks for the reply and the info!

I think I may of mentioned earlier I have a set of ZL1 reproductions (style 41) at the powder coaters as I type. Won't get them back for about 2 weeks due to one week the coater will be in California. Can't wait.

Your correct in saying it can be expensive, especially when we forget about TPMS sensors and tires.

1. TPMS sensors, I am now using exclusively Autel Mx-Sensors, these are programable for 315 or 433mhz. One sensor fit at the least 90% of all vehicle on the road. I am fortunate the Marine Corps base Hobby Shop has a Autel TS501 programmer which cost about $199.00 (as soon as I find a good used one I will own my own). Last set of wheels the Hobby Shop charged me around $41.00 or 43.00 for each sensor. I didn't think that was bad until I went on eBay and found a gent selling 10 of them for $21.00 each, great score. Two sets of my wheels are getting up there in age, one set is about 5 years while I think the other is more like 7 years. For that I believe I might start having issues with the sensors, I am prepared.

2. Regarding tires, I search every avenue I can looking for take offs, occasionally I score one or two sets. Recently getting ready to visit one of our 5 granddaughters in Maine I started searching Craig's List from my location all the way North to Central Maine. I found a gent outside of Boston that had two sets for sale, first was a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 run flats MOE 99Ys 245/40/20 tires with 10/32 tread, no patches and secondly a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7s in 255/40/20. Both sets of tires was for a square setup which I really wanted for rotation. Cost was $760.00 for all 8 tires.

3. Powder coating on the ZL1 wheels will be $400.00, I have the TPMS sensors, black Gorilla lugs/locks, tires so I need to pay just the mounting and balancing, can't wait.

The Marine Corps base mounted my 2019 20" black wheels but scratched the heck out of the back side of one, kid said it's on the back so it won't show. Told him I was going to stab the trunk of his frigging car with a spike but don't worry it's in the back so it won't show.

So I am now really looking for a competent tire guru who can mount my new never mounted ZL1 wheels, balance them and not scratch them, hoping that possible.

I do have a think for wheels, the girls needs different shoes for different occasions!

Larry

I researched the cost and quality of powder coating in at least six shops in the NC area. Two were in Raleigh, two in Jacksonville and two in Wilmington.

Remember these wheels have never been mounted, ZERO damage and no tires to be taken off.

The highest quote I had was something like $715.00, couple in the $500.00 area and two in the $400.00 range.

The only sets that I might part with are the two sets of 21" wheels, one set is square and the other is staggered. The square setup has just about 6K miles on the Pirelli P Zero tires. The staggered set front tires have about 6 or 7/32 tread while the rear should be replace 3 or 4/32.

Neither set has any curb damage what so ever.

The problem is shipping is a monster.

Thanks for the tip, I just took your advise and researched the Nitto G2's up. Very nice looking tread design with a tread grade of 320. Cost about $200.00 per tire. Much less than the Pirelli P Zero's.

Food for thought. Thanks my friend.
