From 1967 to 1976 they used Pontiac engines From 1977 to 1979 they used the Pontiac 400 and Olds 403(automatic only) 1980 was the 301 Pontiac or the 403 Olds In 1981 only the lowly Pontiac 301 remained in NA or Turbo I owned a 1978 SE(Gold/Black Bandit) with a 403 I traded my 1980 Z/28 4speed for it and was hooked on TA's ever since I also had a 1984 HO a 1988 GTA L98 a 1994 TA GT a 95TA a 1999 TA and a 2001 TA My first internet screen name was my nickname Transamtom (given to me by my car buddies) That name just didn't work here While I admire the recreations and I billieve its your car you can do with it what you want I wouldn't buy one because of the premium attached. Your not going to have a very big market one of my friends lost his shirt when he had to sell due to family issues

For me it goes (65-70) Chevelle > (All) Trans Am > (All) 67-81 Camaro. I can buy one of the three now. Modeling after the 70 T/A makes more sense than the 78 T/A given the body lines of the Camaro, IMO. That my not be a popular statement on this forum, but being in my Top 3 isn't a bad place to be (as a life-long car-guy who had a bedroom full of car and metal band posters). FYI - Mustang is at the bottom of the list well under a Dodge Omni. I do like Mopar a lot, and love the Challengers, Chargers, GTX, RoadRunner, etc. What makes me respect Pontiac, Mopar, and Chevy is they went for big displacement even when it wasn't "popular".

I wouldn't buy a V6 version, but I like these "Trans fendered" Camaros. If we couldn't have a Trans Am or even a Firebird at all, these replicas are a nice tribute.

Your build log is great. Love the color and overall styling/stripes/mods you have. I'd say it there but I'm not on that forum. Beautiful car!
