Several years back I inherited my grandfather's 1966 MGB a few years after he passed. After my grandmother fell, slipped into a coma, and passed away back in 1985, he couldn't bear driving "their car" anymore and let it sit in the garage. When he remarried in 2000 he had it cleaned up and would putz around the block occasionally. It wasn't road worthy but cleaned up nice.

As the only one in the family with the ability to fix it, I took on the process of tearing it down. Rebuilt the 1800cc engine, 100% new fuel (tank/lines/pump), brakes (all components/lines/etc), rebuilt suspension, new bushings, new interior, etc.

Full build log: https://www.mgexp.com/forum/factory-...7/#msg-3492087

Currently, it's up on a custom rolling stand to allow suspension removal/rebuilt before the full re-assembly starts. I realize that my build log is a few years outdated and missing a lot of info.

When I got it:

Where it's now:

I have a 1987 325 (E30) that I redid from the ground up.
I used to autocross it until the pressure plate exploded and I had to have the transmission repaired. She's back to 100% but I don't want to risk damaging the car.

I also have an E36 M3 currently that serves as my daily.
Did a lot of work to this car, despite it being "The most reliable M3"
New cylinder head, new suspension, rebuilt the calipers, lots of time and money to get this one back to "good"

And because someone needs something reliable to compliment the Krauthaus that is my garage.

Likewise on the MGB. Nothing like a British roadster with mesh wheels. I've always wanted to drive one, but being 6'-2" and fat has its limits.

Does the cover you have over the cabin allow for the driver to drive the car and keep the passenger side covered? I always love the pictures of Brits driving those cars in the rain, wearing a car cover raincoat. I admire the dedication.

My 03 GX470 which we take camping/offroading. It's been a hobby of mine since before the Camaro from back in 2007 when I got my first FJ Cruiser.

The car is surprisingly roomy inside, the footwells go deeper than you'd expect.

Yes, that cover can remain in-place while driving with the zipper down the middle splitting the two sides and you just tuck the driver's side behind that seat.
