Replacing non CF insert with CF insert possible?

I would assume that it is but has anyone done it? Any idea on what it may cost?

I found a ZL1 I like but it does not have the CF insert...

ThatGMPartsGuy sells them, along with the logos. They're kind of spendy, but you can probably sell your old one if it's still intact and recoup some cash.

I was considering doing this when I was looking for my car, if I couldn't find one I wanted with the exposed already. Didn't have to travel that road though.

I had mine out to wrap the hood. If you do change it. There are 2 different length bolts so don't put a long one into where a short one is supposed to go or it can cause a dimple on the top side, so it is important to keep track of which bolts go where....

Plus these are way cheaper than the 5th Gen ECF ZL1 inserts.
