ACCIDENT today PICS
Well, I walk out of the gym today and find my door caved in. Luckily the guy who hit me left his name and number. So, I called him and asked him what happened. He told me he parked at a restaurant, and when he walked out his car had rolled into mine. Im assuming he parked it in neutral. But, thank god he was a decent person and left his info. So, ive been on the phone with our insurance companies all day, and they are going to get me into the shop in a few days and get a rental car. Sucks, but shit happens, At least no one got hurt.
Also, Im going to try and file a "diminished value claim" with their insurance company. So, when I go to resell this car the carfax doesnt screw me over. Any one have any experience with a diminished value claim?

You know man, it sucks that this happened to your beautiful car. But on the bright side Its only the door that is messed up. They will have to blend the side but atleast its not major structural issue.

Sucks man. Like said above Atleast it was just the door and should be to difficult to fix. New door some paint that matches and blends well and you good to go.

I'm almost wondering if they could give that door a paint-less fix. I know there is some way to get inside a door panel and it wouldn't surprise me if a huge part of that dent could be popped back out. The pro's will know for sure.

Deminished value depends on the state, some I believe state its only if after market or refurbished/junk parts are used, but dont quote me on that.
Whos his insurance? Ive had two filings with Geico, one not and one my fault and both times they sent me a check for diminished without me even mentioning it. Allstate, the company that Satan runs, it was like pulling teeth to get them toeven pay, when it was thier guy who rear ended me, but after three months of them trying to get me to claim it on my insurance (2 days short of the legal requirement of settling within 90 days, they tried to claim I could only get deminished if it was my company paying. And I wont go into the details of their reasoning why I only needed a rental 3 days when it was a 10 business day repair estimate...... So if its Geico you should be good, not to say dont watch them, but if its Allstate, youll have to watch them like a hawk, they make medical insurance companies look like angels........ |
