Disabling turn signals as running lights

Well, I always hated how my turn signals lights came on when I turned on my headlights. So, I was thinking of how I could only have them on when I had the turn signal on to turn, and off all the time except for that. So, I did some research and found if you take out the turn signal bulbs. Having the sylvania logo facing towards you, Cut the left wire. And, your done. Now the turn signals only go on when you signal right or left, or put the hazards on.

Well good thing where i live in ohio doesnt have a safety inspection, But my halos can also do amber, so If i move somewhere I do im sure ill still be fine.

Yeah, I used to live in MI and there wasn't one there either to deal with. You should be OK. It's all a big crock for revenue.

Thats interesting because my turn signal lights only come on when the signal is on. Is that for certain states I guess?

When you turn on your headlights your ambers dont come on?

Im gonna have to go outside and look at this, I had no idea the ambers were on with my headlights, I do have an RS, so maybe thats the difference?

For the RS package the amber lights don't turn on with the headlights. They function only when turn signal is applied.

I would double check that. Did you change your harness to kill the fogs as DRLs and killed the side markers, too? More info about side markers in this thread.

I would not need to double check that. My RS Camaro does not have fog lights. By default my fog lights are DRL's and I only have 2SSRS plug and play harness to have my DRL's on all the time. This doesn't effect my Turn Signals. When I power on my Halo's all lights(side markers, DRLs, Tail lights) are powered on except for my Headlight and Turn Signal unless I apply it.

Rs cars only have turn signal lights only.

Non Rs have running and turn signal lights in the head lights.

sorry guys, missed that in the pics. Always referred to those as parking lights. Just different terminology. When OP said turn signal lights I was thinking side markers. my bad
