2SS Constraints?

Constraints?… I was told to weeks ago that the 2023 2SS were under sales constraint, is this true, why is this true and is it still true? I was third in line for dealership allocation however due to the constraint on the day of my order submission it was not able to be filled last week or was it two weeks ago at this point. Hoping somebody could shed some light on the situation.

Thanks to anybody who may have information

I have two 2SS 1LE cars on order at different dealerships, both are still at 1100 after a month :( I'm tempted to try a third order for a 1SS 1LE to see if it gets past 1100, but I don't think I'd take it anyway.

Last week Thur when the constraint list came out there were only 13 2SS for the entire country. I tried to order one and had to switch to a 1SS as I didnt get one of the 13. I did this last year with my Tahoe and I highly recommend matching your order to whats available otherwise you will wait. I waited a year for a HighCountry and had to switch to a Z71 and and then it still took 5 months.

I'd just not get the car if I had to settle for a 1SS. Don't need it, just a want and plenty happy with my other cars.

I had orders in with 3 different dealerships. 3rd dealership got the allocation. I learned my lesson with the 2022 2SS I had on order with one dealership and never received an allocation. Same car is now costing me $2500 more.

Yeah I may try a 3rd dealer in my area just to feel better, although the two I have now are some of the larger dealers in the area already.

I have a 2SS 1LE on order for the last few weeks and it was at "Order submitted by dealer, not yet accepted by GM." Just today I was told it was "accepted by Chevrolet and is working toward the production process" which I assume is 2000-something code I guess? So maybe they're getting there.

That’s great to hear. My PA dealer did not have any Camaros for allocation this week. Well except for two ZL1s. He had three or four last week so I did jump from 7 to 2. I believe over the next week they’re not going have many when I was told, but with the plant changing over to the new model year I wasn’t expecting much to be built l, accecpted this week anyway

Definitely a good sign. I ordered a 22 2SS back in January and it did get accepted in March. It’s been built and at 4200 status as of today.

Well 2023 orders are probably facing the same constraints 2022’s did on 3LT, 2SS, and ZL1. It’s not surprising to hear, I would have expected it.

That sucks man. I ordered a 22 ZL1 in mid February. It was accepted, built and delivered exactly 7 weeks later in early April. On the other hand, I ordered a 21 2SS 1LE in mid February 2921 and it took over 7 months until I got it.

The wait has sucked. But I know it’s dwindling down. The dealer told me before I even ordered it would take 3-6 months. So I can’t blame anyone for what I was prepped for. As long as it’s delivered okay and all goes to plan I’ll be happy as can be.

Where do we find out what the current restraints are and does it come out every Thursday?

As far as I’m aware dealer allocation comes out every Thursday so the dealer knows what they can order over the next couple days. But I have no idea where the list comes from for total constraints and how many total that will be expected to be built that week.
