Zl1 Supercharger rattle
It seems that my 2013 ZL1 has the dreaded supercharger rattle. I took it to my local dealership the other day. They are going to get a new supercharger for my car. The rattle is much worse after driving the car.

I have mixed feelings about my 2013. I havent had any issues with it. But I almost wish it would act up so I could get it replaced. It worries me that so many have had the issue.

My car has low mileage, just under 10,000 kms or around 6000 miles. The rattle only just began very recently. Also along with the rattle, I can hear a squealing coming from the supercharger. I just hope that the new replacement supercharger is rattle free. I would like to think that the replacements are updated and won't fail in the same way.

The way I read the service bulletin, the rattle and squeal can eventually cause the motor to not start or other damage. Is the "new" replacement just old stock that they are bolting on in place of the defective units, or are the "new" units a revised design? I would think having that many issues that the "new" units are just old stock.

When I had mine replaced the service guru told me after GM sends them one they send the one they pull off of the car back to GM and they rebuild them. That is what he said but I told him I wanted a new one and he told me GM would just send the rebuilt one and that is what I got.

The extra extended 10 year warranty for this is still in effect right?
