Dreading the weather change...

Because I know it will be time to switch up to the daily... Does anyone do anything special when they store their PURRRR machine away?

So far we have:

-Deep Clean
-Battery stabilizer
-Oil change
-Over inflate tires (Stock pirelies max at 50 psi, so 45?)
-Resist taking it out early... LOL

Wash it, dry it by driving it, put in Stabil, pull it into the garage, attach the Schunacher battery tender and put on my cheap Wallmart cover. I do not touch it until spring. I do the same with my Harley. Winter means my 2001 Buick Century.

I have never heard of the "Battery Tender" is this what your referring to ? (http://www.google.com/products/catal...ed=0CCYQ8wIwAA) Sorry for the moment of booning, but it helps stabilize the battery so it does not loose charge orr just kind of makes a bigger battery if that makes sense?

I can say the same thing for Texas. Might be a few days that are horrible and would not risk it

This plus an oil change before you store is not a bad idea especially if you only change once a year and over inflate the tires to help prevent flat spots. Need an inspection over the winter? Get that done now as well.

It's an electronically controlled/smart trickle charger. It keeps the battery charged. The car will drain the battery if you let it sit too long...some of its charge will dissipate naturally, and the car is using some of it in the background to save settings, onstar communications, security, etc. All you gotta do is keep it hooked up. Unplug before you start the car, and you're on your way!

If you're like me and only drive the car 3500 miles/year or so because you've got a 2nd vehicle, it's nice because it means every time I go to start it up, the car doesn't go into charge-mode which is pretty hard on the alternator to always have to keep up with a low battery.
