Any other tall people?
Hey guys,
So i'm going to be buying a camaro and I got to test drive one for around 45 minutes today and I really loved it, but I found my legs didn't enjoy resting against the door and the center console where the stereo is. I'm 6'7 and I take up a fair amount of space in there and I was wondering if anyone had this issue and if they added anything on the interior to help with their height. Perhaps i'll have to come up with my own solution. |

It's going to be different for other people who are your height. If you did a 45 minute spin in a Camaro, I think that's going to be your most accurate 'feel' for if you're going to fit or not. Did you have the seat all the way back? The steering wheel telescoped all the way out?
I'm 6'4" and have a longer torso relative to my legs, and I can't quite push the clutch in with the seat all the way back. But I have to lean the seat so my head doesn't rub on my non-sunroof headliner. |

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, i'm mainly tall in my legs, i had the seat all the way back. I mean, I fit, I can turn the wheel, close the door, I 'felt' comfortable, I just know in long drives, my legs resting against the door will be annoying. I was thinking maybe I could install some sort of cushion there or something. I just figured maybe someone also had that issue.

At 6'1' Im not as tall as you but I have long legs and I know for a fact my left leg likes to rest on the door, but Ive never really given much thought to it until now. I just dont really notice it nor dose it bother me. I know im not being much help here but maybe go for a longer test drive? my dealer let me drive it for a few hours before I took it back to buy it.
I hope it works out for you! |

i am 6'6" and i think the legroom in the gen 5 is incredible. for one, in most cars i find my knee hitting the area where the dash meets the console. in the camaro, there is no such area so you just have open space for your knee to freely sit without any obstruction. i just sold a 5 series bmw and it was much more cramped in the legroom category.
what car would you say has better legroom? i have never owned a car where my leg didn't rest against the door at some times. |

6"4
I'm 6'4" and fit fine. I have a vert though, which gives a more little headroom.
All gm cars seem to have plenty of legroom for me as opposed to Ford. Mustang in particular. I Drove a new mustang for about 20 minutes, couldn't get comfortable and after 20 minutes had had enough. Last edited by cam62; 09-19-2011 at 10:42 AM. |
