I'll be short and sweet *again*

1) If the GT500 beats the ZL1 around a road course, is a sinlge ZL1 owner going to go out and sell their Camaro and buy a Mustang?

2) If the GT500 is unable to duplicate or better the ZL1 times around "X" track, is a single Mustang owner going to sell their car for the ZL1?

I can personally attest to MY answer to #2. And I would assume that everyone elses answer is NO....unless you don't own either car *which is most everyone posting* then you'll be a douche

So this message board is only for camaro owners now? I didn't have a camaro until last week - and some f the moderators on here don't even have Camaro's

woo hoo I own a measly 2012 GT can I be a douche? JK I priced a 2013 GT500 to order and it was just too rich for my blood. a plain old GT is good enough for me. Im a Ford guy, always will be. But doesnt mean I wouldn't own an SS, ZL1, Z06 or ZR1 etc. I think both companies are doing a great job putting out great performing cars for all of us to enjoy. In the end the numbers don't really matter. Will it matter if your car is faster if you don't enjoy driving it? The jabbing is fun, but some people take this way to seriously.

Didn't mean to sound like people are douches if they don't own either of these cars

Instead, if you're trolling about these cars but own neither, THEN you're a douche.
It's been pionted o ut in several portions of this site that most of the arguments are clearly from non-onwrs wo hva noting better to do.

According to the video, the GT500 is a 2010. Doesn't make sense....typo possibly? If it really is a 2010, it has the "weak" 540 hp engine. The '11-'12 and '13 cars should have a bigger gap from the Boss 302.

The ZL1 has some easy potential, as well, without investing a lot of money. A simple pulley, tune and intake coupled with some drag radials, and the ZL1 will be low 11 second or high 10 second car, especially the automatics. The GT500 is my favorite foe when I visit the street legal days at the local drag tracks. I have raced about 7 different ones, so far and looking forward to coming across a 2013. They always underestimate the 4 door grocery getter

Yes its a typo.

That is a 2011 w/ the first year of the optional performance package (you can tell by the skinny stripes)

They also made a typo on the on the 2011 Boss 302 Laguna Seca which wasn't released until MY 2012.

I think the Lightning Lap @ VIR is a pretty good bellwether for lap time comparisons:

http://www.caranddriver.com/features...to-2012-page-8

Check out #28

And #33

Combine that with the '13 GT500's slower time in the Motor Trend Figure 8 test (compared to the previous Shelby) and you would think the BOSS LS still sits pretty tall in its Ford saddle.

Please keep in mind. We've had a rash of GT500 guys on here that have been chest thumping/trolling. I'd hate to see you lumped in that group.

With all due respect to the beast that is the GT500, this is a Camaro forum.

FWIW.
Just because i'm pro ford, does not make me Anti GM. The blue oval is def where I hang my hat.

However, we do own a chevy store as well, I've had 3 corvettes, the last one an 08 with 600rwhp that went 10.8's.

I was very very close to pulling the trigger on a CTSV in November, but went with the raptor instead.

Doesn't change the fact that I believe the GT500 is a superior car overall.

That, and the fact that I got to spend 10 hours driving one this week!
