Very nice guys! Looking forward on seeing how far you can push the ZL1 and how your 700hp package runs on street tires with pump gas

I had a 2004 GTO 5.7L LS1 and had transmission issues throughout the 3 years i owned it, weird i know, considering i had a 2001 Camaro no tranny problems and i have a 2002 Z28 with no problems... I would just like to know where is everyone getting all this money to purchase a $60,000 Camaro and then dumping even more Cash into it ??? I must be doing something wrong and I make pretty good money and can't do it..

Out of curiosity how much damage can a 700hp upgrade like this do? I spoke with a family member recently that is an engineer at General Motors and they highly advised against it touting the risk of the engine blowing up off the line and so forth... It didn't seem at all logical from what I have heard and seen but I'm curious if an upgrade like this will in fact cause major issues down the road

Who really is the loser here? If you can afford either the ZL1 or the GT500, you're fortunate. We have to be thankful that in these days we're still able to get pony cars with this much power. I remember when the 320 hp supra was the king of the road. With gas prices going up and the slowing economy, I never saw this coming. I'm sitting back enjoying where this thread is going. I cannot wait until the GT500 hits the streets and we can finally put this issue to rest! Nothing like a head to head no holds barred competition. May the best car win.

But I agree with your first points...it's good to have these options today. I don't believe performance will die...but this flavor of big engine/huge power...that probably won't be around forever... |
