They are changing it for that reason exactly. One of the reasons I didn't buy one. And yes, pure plastic. It's horrendous. I'd rate them like this based on look, feel, and features available: Base GT<Boss 302<Camaro 1SS<Camaro 2SS<GT Premium/Shelby

Yeah I couldn't buy one for that reason, the Camaro's interior as it is makes me want to vomit . Though it could be argued that the Boss 302 or Boss 302 Laguna Seca doesn't need all of those extras since it's a dedicated track car while the Camaro ZL1 is more of an all around performer a non-luxury grand tourer if you will., they should have changed the interior materials for the ZL1 and that is just my opinion, cause the Camaro gets its ass handed to it in that sense...

I wouldn't mind seeing a steering wheel reminiscent of those used in the Corvette & seats swapped out for Recaros. The new Michelin Pilot Sports that are used on the ZR1 might be awesome on the ZL1. Don't know if they come in those sizes, but they made a significant difference at the Nurburgring.

You want a Colbalt steering wheel instead of a Volt steering wheel then?

How the heck is there a 0.8 second gap to 100 MPH but the Mustang closes the gap by 0.5 seconds at over a 100 MPH with an underpowed NA engine!? I don't see how this is possible! Seems like someone screwed up at MT... or the ZL1 goes into serious overdrive in 4th gear...

Maybe Jeremy Clarkson showed up and moved the cones further down for the ZL1 run...

I would still take a ZL1 over the Boss any day.

I bet the LS launched a bit better, then the Z caught and passed it before the 1/4. Too bad there wasn't a side-by-side video (Car and Driver style) to look at...

What's the big dilemma with the quarter mile time? The car is made for a track. Going fast around a track is 100 times more fun then a stupid quarter mile race. There is no greater satisfaction then taking your car around a twisty road. I have a 2010 Camaro and find that my friend's 2011 Subaru WRX is much more fun to drive. It isn't as fast, but on a twisty road it puts a huge smile on your face. I have a 2012 Camaro ZL1 on order, and would never cancel it. If it comes and I feel that it is inadequate in a straight line, then I will add a Lingenfelter package. Stop complaining about quarter mile times. There is a reason as to why mosts enthusiasts prefer a Porsche 911 to a Nissan GTR.

The 2013 Boss has HID, Sync, & Bluetooth...but still a base GT interior.

And there it is...It took reading all the way to the last thread for someone to finally pull the perverbial statement out. What I really love is the short memory where the BOSS was compared to the SS in a road race. The SS lost by "only" 2 seconds. In that article it was more about how those 2 seconds were really a bigger gap than it appears. Now those same 2 seconds are a smaller gap than it appears. Its funny when the shoe is back on the other foot.

I read these reviews as Ford's "track car" just got walked by Chevy's "track car". Yes the ZL1 has 136 more hp while being 483 pounds heavier. OOPS Ford just got caught with a knife at a gun fight!

Its great to see all of these modern cars this close in performance giving us so many options. Lets hope the green cars keep improving so these beasts can continue to battle despite CAFE regulations. to all!

The ZL1 beat Fords Best Track car by a whooping 2 seconds. Did it more relaxed and composed with confidence. 4 passenger ZL1 vs 2 passenger LS (a big plus because I have children).. Looks meaner and better in my opinion. Amazing.. Give props where it is deserved.... The ZL1 is King of the American Musclecar Throne.. And accepted to fight the 2013 Ford Gt500.......
