Me too.

I did drive mine this week for the first time in almost a month. Took it to work on Friday... Total round trip commute 3 miles. Yes I said 3 miles. It's a bitch of a commute, but they were 3 really awesome miles for sure. New mileage total, 613 since October 14, 2010.

Wow, thanks for the responses everyone. It seems that some of you are a little touchy about this subject. I have no issues with someone not driving their car, especially since they can do whatever they want with it. I was simply trying to understand how you can have an awesome car and not want to drive it as much as possible. I personally have 4 cars for just my wife and myself, two of which sit most of the time and we drive for certain occasions and I have no problems just looking at them in the garage feeling lucky to be able to have such awesomoe cars at my age. I love this dialogue and feel free to do whatever you want with YOUR cars, as long as they make you happy.

Well its actually a series of things that might lead up to that decision or in my case it did:

1. I always wanted a cool car to take out on the weekends since I was kid.
2. Owning a house that last 70% of its value makes you rethink logical things like home ownership as a sound investment. Banks that are unwilling to work with you reinforces that theory.
3. Getting hit by a car receiving a complete compound fracture to your left arm because someone in a Mustang had bad day and ran a stop sign. Also your insurance company fighting you on the medical bills makes said mortgage payment seem silly.
4. The Arizona deficiency statute makes the takes the away the fear of the banks coming after you after said home loses 70% of its value. That being the case something needs to prop the credit rating, why not a small car loan on a brand new 2010 Camaro SS?
5. Driving your brand new Camaro SS as a commuter for one year to a job 5 miles away you suddenly accept a job that require 60,000 miles a year. This new job doesn't provide company cars but it pays mileage. So a fuel efficient car is needed as a daily driver, the Camaro is delegated to weekend driving. You decide to buy a new Fiesta SE as a DD for cash.
6. After walking away from said mortgage you move to an apartment with the Camaro SS, DD and new job in hand. Exposed to a possibly jealous populace two vandalism pot shots are taken at the Camaro SS, they both luckily fail.
7. As a result of the vandalism attempts you decide to garage your Camaro SS in the storage facility next door. There is no point in getting rid of the Camaro SS because its the car you've always wanted, you can maintain in a garage in non-daily driving duty as you really want, it props up your credit rating, its easily accessible for quick drives and the payments are almost non-existent.

The end results of this formula results in garage queen Camaro SS. I owe so little on that car because of the down payment that it would be stupid for me to ever get rid of it, especially with the car loan repairing my credit from leaving my house. Besides why get rid of the symbol of my freedom from an upside mortgage, recovery from a compound fracture to the left arm and was bright light that put a smile on my face when my previous company started going under?

The end result

I have two vehicles that serve very different purposes. I have a 2002 Chrysler AWD van that is my DD. It's my DD because I am a mobile DJ, and it has to haul music equipment. It's also really good in the snow. My Camaro is for nice days. It's not a "garage queen", so to speak, but it's driven when it's appropriate. Unfortunately, in the winter in Colorado it won't be driven very much. My van is a DD because it has to be. My Camaro is my "toy car".

That's why I went with a loaded 2SS. I really wanted a '08-'09 Corvette, but couldn't find one I liked within 1000 miles of me. I don't regret getting the Camaro. I love it, and I love the fact that it will be "like new" for quite some time.

Same here,My thoughts exactly,I want a 'Vette also, one of these days I'll have one Until then I love and enjoy my Camaro,Its more of a "muscle car" anyway, where the 'Vette is more of a "sports car".

I suppose you could call mine a garage queen...took delivery 4/23/11 and 1900 miles so far. It will be stored through every winter. Its a convertible and so I only drive it on a top-down day and I never commute in it (I have a Tacoma for that). I don't treat the car like this with any naive thoughts of a big resale value some day. (I don't ever plan on selling it.) I just don't drive it if the only point is to get from point A to point B (like commuting), because I want the experience of driving this awesome car to be the purpose for taking it out. I never want it to feel routine. I feel fortunate to have the luxury of doing that. I also own a first year Miata that is 22 years old with only 38K on the odometer that has received the same treatment during its life and I love it every time I take it out for a drive (a very different driving experience from the Camaro). That's just my take on my Camaro. I can see multiple reasons for others not agreeing with my approach, but it works for me.

Ive had my 2010 SS/RS for about a year and a half and only have 5600 miles on it. Not because I am purposely letting it sit in the garage but because I have a company car that I drive daily. I look forward to the weekends so I can drive my Camaro.

I bought this car with intentions of keeping it forever. I got it on June 4 2009, it has 3801 miles on it and it is getting ready for its long winters nap, I hate Ohio winters........but I want it to last for later in life when I can enjoy it more. I have paid for this car in full and if something happens to me from now untill then, I want it to still be worth something. I drive a 1999 6 cyl Camaro as my summer daily driver with 160,000 miles and my winter ride is a 1996 GMC Yukon with a plow for the white crap we get for 6 months a year. I have a 98 WS6 and a monster 2002 2500 hd that also get driven summer months only and tucked away all winter. I have two classics that are unfinished a 69 Z28 and a 70 gto that I will get to someday soon. I have many options of driving experiences and that is why my car is and can be a garage queen. I enjoy it fully when I do drive it and envy those who always drive thiers......just dont want to " use mine up".

My Camaro is a garage queen once winter hits, but come spring time I love getting it out. It makes me sad to know I only have another month or so before it goes into storage. My goal is 5,000 miles per year, and in season #2 I'm sitting at 9500 miles so I'm pretty spot on with my goal.

I've only put about 8500 miles on the Camaro since taking delivery of her in November of 09. She isn't a garage queen by any stretch of the word.

Due to the nature of my job, I spend most of my time deployed over seas, so unfortunately, that means little seat time.

Wanna know how much time I've spent in the United States in 2011?

2 freaking weeks man. The small group of friends I have that are watching my car for me have driven it more than I have this year.
