Intake manifold

I’m replacing my intake manifold with a Edelbrock intake,so,some of the engine builders, what do you use on the intake ports, and the China walls for a sealant.

For anyone that doesnt know what China walls are - that's where the intake manifold meets the wet lifter valley on old school small/big blocks, thus requiring a thick silicone bead on the front and rear of the block for sealing between it and the intake.

You are speaking old school terms here man. Looks like you have a LLT V6?

Which intake you looking at? You make sure to find something compatible for your engine?

IDK if LFX/LLT engines even have china walls, pretty sure they don't. I know our V8s don't, as the LS engine intakes don't touch anything wet and use O-ring gaskets for the intake ports. Pretty sure it's the same for the LLT/LFX.

Even though this is a British replacement part it can also be used on Chevrolets and other American or otherwise vehicles. In some cases can be used on engines.

man, I'm old school and never hear of that phrase at all..

Either way I used Felpro gaskets on the intake ports and a thick bead of whatever was the best Permatex silicone back then. Was silver in color, thats all I remember.. lol

^^^ This. I to have never heard that term back in the day when I did manifold swaps and such. Always used Felpro and black permatex as well.. Thanks InFiD3ViL for the translation sir.
