Melling oil pump - L99 with DOD and VVT deleted

I completed a cam upgrade on my 2015 Camaro SS 6.2L L99 and removed the DOD and VVT components. While doing so I replaced my oil pump with a Melling M295 pump and I get 28 lbs or pressure hot at idle and approx 50 lbs at 5000 RPM’s. We are about to get back into the engine again, should I switch this pump back to the OEM L99 oil pump? Which pump do I need?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I believe those numbers are right where they should be.

With VVT deleted you are good with those numbers. If you had kept VVT I would have considered the Melling 10296 HV pump. That is what I run and my hot idle is at 42-43 lbs and over 5k rpms I am over 60 lbs. I didn't really need these higher pressures with an LS3 but since the engine came with the pump and it was new, I ran it.

Getting the same numbers. Cold idle its over 60 after i deleted all that mess. The L99 factory pump is actually a pretty damn good pump

The melling m296 high volume and stock preasure is put in my VVT3.2 cammed Gen5 years ago. You can keep that melling in there since the car is a no longer VVT.
