In terms of comparing it to another muscle car there wasn't much else they could do. There are only 2 Muscle car coupes to pick from: Camaro Zl1 and Mustang GT500.

Both bad ass cars, the Challenger a little more meaner looking..

But the part about drawing attention annoyed me.. you have a Silver ZL1 vs a LIME GREEN Challenger..

Atleast have them the same color they would be getting about the same attention, and to throw in the Hellcat was just announced so I don't see how those segments about attention and people flocking to the Challenger was relevant..

An 11.7 ET but a trap of 126 shows the potential in the car.

It's purely a traction issue on the stock rubber, the drivetrain is easily capable of the 11.2/10.8 time with a trap creeping on 130

They do that with every new Camaro and Mustang.

So a car that costs $5,000 more. Has 127 more hp and 94 more lb/ft of torque. With a bigger supercharger, wins in a straight line therefor cements it's win in a general comparison? If they were just testing straight line why didn't they pick the GT500 instead?
I also love how they brought up the GT-R's trap speed being embarrassing. But not it's 0-60 or 0-100 compared to the hellcat. Also, it shows that the hellcat's "power" doesn't overwhelm the ZL1 until 90mph, what street races were like this back in the day that they're referring to. It's 45-65mph pull is only .4 seconds quicker than the Z's. That 707hp sure does scream "I'm a winner".
This comparison was terrible, you can't test several different variables and base a win off of one result.

Yep, and it was biased.

"With Ford and its 662-hp Shelby Mustang currently out of the production, the Camaro ZL1 and Challenger Hellcat and their combined 1287 horsepower represent the two toughest musclecars around."

There is a 2014 Shelby GT500, but they choose to use a 2014 Camaro ZL1 while the 2015 Camaro ZL1s are in production and on car lots. Doesnt that make the 2014 ZL1 out of production too?

Somebody get a comparison between a 2014 Shelby GT500 vs a 2015 Challenger Hellcat manual vs a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 manual and settle all this non-sense.

I'm almost certain that the ZL1 would still come in last.

on a technicality side if you go to Fords build and price, the 15 Mustang is now considered the current model year so on a technicality side they are correct bc 15 is the current model year

Same holds true for the Camaro. You can not build a 2014 Camaro ZL1.

Depends on their mood the day the article comes out. The ZL1 beat the GT500 in 2013 comparison reviews.

Yes, but you can the ZL1 as a 15. No GT500 as a 15. Its stupid, but that is probably why they didn't do it. Ford probably said no to sending a test car out bc the 15 will be heading out soon for reviews
