What is this?

I’m no mechanic, is this spring attachment aftermarket? If so, what purpose does it serve? Thanks! https://www.camaro5.com/forums/attac...1&d=1653256947

It "adjusts" spring rate by shoring out one turn of the coil to stiffen the spring. It has a threaded rod with the the ability to adjust further, but the "adjustment" has little effect compared to just taking out one coil.

It is a piece of s#i#. Take it off and throw it away before it causes the spring to break.

Is it just as simple as loosening the inner nuts to remove it?

Looks like it. Make sure that corner is off the ground to release the spring tension a bit when you do it

Good advice. It should be easier with the wheel off the ground.

Some liquid wrench might also help.

These are for lifting the car up by spreading the coils out. It’s a thing you see on the donk cars to fit larger rims. If you flip the top bracket 180* and tighten it can compress the spring to give a lower look like a drop spring.

If you remove that your ride quality should increase a bit and not be as stiff.
