What about just upgrading the tweeters?
Boston Factory
Since I've got a Rockford p300-10 powered sub and most of my bass is coming from it (have crossovers set to high pass on the fronts from my JVC kw-v820 bt) I'm thinking I don't really need to upgrade the 6.5s. The rear 6x9s also sound good enough to me. What I think is lacking is the mids and highs from the tweets. They sound muddy at higher volume. Right now I still have the stock Boston amp but may upgrade to a Rockford pbr300x4 or something similar using the FARK harness. Is this a good idea or not? Edit: The Rockford pbr300x4 only runs at 4ohm so that's probably out of the question Last edited by Aaron0731; 04-22-2017 at 08:34 PM. Reason: Accuracy |

I upgraded my tweeters after I put in a sub. Ran with the stock mids for about a year before I finally replaced them too. Vastly better midrange and high bass now. More info in my sig link below.

You should have zero midrange coming through the tweeters. I don't know what they are factory crossed at, but it will be way above any midrange. IMHO your largest noticeable gain in clarity will be from upgrading your 6.5's in the doors. These play the largest bandwidth, and are where most of your vocal and instruments come from.
