Rough Idle

Hey guys, I just picked up my ABM 2SS/RS on Wednesday, and so far I love it! I have noticed at idle though that it isn't as smooth as I would think it should be. I also notice that the RPM gauge hunts a little, only about 200 RPM or so, and not constantly. At first I thought it was just the nature of the beast, but the more I drive it (350 miles in the past few days) I have come to the conclusion that it is not normal, being that it's not constant like a cam lope. I'll be going back to the dealership this week, but was wondering if anybody else had experienced this problem? It seems almost like an injector pulse is off o something. It's not a misfire, at least I don't think, because that usually sets off a check engine light. Any thoughts?

Is it predictable or constant?

Or does it idle fine and then out of nowhere "hunt" the rpm?

Well I understand it's not a Buick...I've been driving a Suburban for three years though and I know what a V8 idles like and this is not it. And no, it's not predictable, it's very random. Smooths out for a few seconds and then just gets rough for no reason, even with the air conditioning off.

Mine does something similar. I can feel a intermitent vibration at idle. But it is not enough to move the tach needle.

Ya, I'll probly take it to the dealer just to be on the safe side. It is enough to move the tach needle, not a lot, but it moves none the less. Could be nothing, but like I said, it feels like a bad injector. Just have to have the dealer run some diagnostics on it and see what they find.

also remember that this motor idles at 500rpm which is VERY low, if you bump it up to 750 its MUCH smoother
