2010 SS automatic cam quote

I am wanting to do a cam on my 2010 camaro SS automatic and I got a quote for everything he said around 3000$ for the cam and around 1900 for the torque converter. Does that sound about right?

Did you get a parts listing for the cam install? and possibly a brand name of the T/C?

assumptions from your post is that this is a parts + labor quote.

<edit> Is there a dyno tune involved?

Check out RDP Motorsports here in Ohio.. If i recall it would be about $2500 and that included parts, labor, and dyno tune

Sorry yeah that's with dyno tune parts and labor. So roughly looking at 4400-5000 for everything

sorry for the questions, but if you truly request a more accurate evaluation of your quote then some details are needed.

L99 cam swap will (most of the time) include a DoD delete regardless if VVT is kept or not. If so, then the labor will be all the way down to the shortblock and back up with new parts for the lifters, valley, etc. Most cams should also require new springs, too.

If you keep VVT, then cam phaser, if deleting VVT (not advised) then more parts for the deletion.

I would say if you go with BTR parts, and a custom cam...you should be right at $2500 parts + labor keeping VVT + fluids. $900 for a Circle D single clutch at 3200 rpm stall and around $300 for labor+fluids.

Bolts...standard or ARP? ARP would add a few hundred $$$ to the rebuild.

Honestly, it's close and may be worth the "extra" if it is a respected shop that will stand behind the build and tune to your driveability expectations.

That is my WAG on this. You already have headers?
