Advice on purchase price?
Hello,
First post and new to this forum (sorry if in wrong spot). Wanted your opinions on a purchase I was considering... 2019 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS 1LE MSRP: $51,885 Sales: $46,962 OTD: $47,027 I am trying to negotiate a lower price, like to be OTD ~$45k, but dealer has only budged $500. From what I can tell, the car primarily has all the features. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Best. Last edited by ssidd; 04-15-2020 at 11:14 AM. Reason: Change price to exclude $2k customer cash as OTD price is reflective of 0% special |

What dealer is it. With todays economy not to many people are looking for these cars. The 0% 84 month is good to the end of april. Who knows what they will do for May incentives. If that's your firm price tell them they know how to contact you if they change their mind. You still have 2weeks left of the promotion let it drag out and see. They night be more willing to deal at the end of the month.

Thanks for the feedback. I am working with Willis Chevrolet Buick in Smyrna, DE.
This is the car I am interested in: https://www.willisgm.com/VehicleDeta...-DE/3415306603 I've only begun the negotiations, so I'll see how motivated they are to sell and massage the dealings. While not to crazy about the 84 month term, it's 0% so no complaints there. And I'd figure i get ahead with the 4 month deferment period. I'd like to get the vehicle down as low as possible (like everyone else) but just want to gauge opinion whether the pricing is competitive. Seems like $5000 off MSRP is what i am seeing on 1LE's in about a 100mi radius, which this seems to be inline. Also, i am planning a down payment and potentially a trade but have not brought up the trade in negotiations yet. |

From what it's worth, I've read on other posts here that taking the 0% 84 month finance deal removes some of the cash incentives from the deal resulting in a higher price. Something to check for yourself maybe?

Geez...
With those prices, I'd look at a used ZL1 garage queen for that kind of money.

I also got a 2019 White 2SS 1LE recently with $11500 in total discounts, they had a dealer discount, trade in help and budged an extra $2000 when I gave an extra $1000 in down payment.
From the get go I made it clear I was only into the deal because of the 0% APR but that I was staying with them because the discounts were good, I bothered the seller for a few days and lowballed my down payment (I was willing to give up to $5k but started at $3k), also played the long game with financing, if they don't give you 0%, bug them as much as possible for it and make them know you're not afraid to walk away, if at the end they give you 0% but no incentives, walk away and wait 3 days because that car won't go away, if they don't mix both by then, buy the car anyways, 0% on a ~$50k is equivalent to around $9000 in interest, I ALMOST got 0% but I was rolling in way too much from my previous car but they were more than willingly to give me $11500 in discounts with 84/0% Good luck brother, negotiating a car is never easy, I hope you get it!

My 2020 2SS 1LE was $46,929 with the incentives and the dealer sale price. They had $1250 factory incentive then. I think I had 2 options that added about $600 to that price. I was able to get an additional $2000 off for the Mustang Conquest deal too. So yours is an extra $2000 off for a new 2019 so that’s probably in the ballpark.
Everyone wants the best price of course, but if you get the car you will love it. It is a great car and it is quick and handles great . You will definitely be happy. Good luck. Last edited by 2004YZFR1; 04-15-2020 at 02:57 PM. |

If you can snag 10% with special financing, that’s decent deal all day long. You certainly aren’t overpaying by any reasonable standard. On the other hand, might want to wait things out a bit, however. Who else is going to walk in and buy that car during this mess?
