Understanding Needs Before Buying

Anyone that can afford a 2lt can afford a 1ss. Whats important to you , all the options or the the sound and performance of a V8. Too many camaro owners looking to upgrade and taking it in the shorts. Lets start looking before we jump. Me , i just want to look cool driving my 13 camaro. I don't need to go fast or be heard half a mile away , been there done that. Had a Supercharged 05 SSR 6M with many mods. So if you have the bug for thrills don't waste your time and more important money with the LT.

What about when your needs change? Or take it from me, someone that will tell it like it is.

The V6 sounds good on paper, you would think 300+ horsepower would be a pretty decent package if you go by power levels of previous generation cars. I even got the manual trans to increase the fun factor.

It is indeed a farce, the V6 is lackluster when you mash the gas.

Lol may have lack luster for a stock car but once to have all the bolt ons possible it's hard to say the same thing when you go from a mid 14 sec car to mid 13s and now we have cams and head work. Also our FI freinds running in the 12s with easily more power than a cammed v8

Invalid argument. You still have worse suspension, brakes, and weaker trans. Once you have "all the bolts on possible" you have a money pit that only runs 13's. I can buy a 4th gen Z28 for $5000 bucks and put it in the 13s for pennies if it isn't already there.

In the end they will always say "runs pretty good for a V6" and mods are mods, cost the same for a V6 or a V8.

This is not a V6 vs V8. This is why buy a V6 only to lose money when you upgrade to a V8 in a short time.

Yeah that's the ticket, I just don't know how to drive. I usually just used 1st gear off the line, then shift to 2nd, etc. etc.

Maybe I should have ordered a granny gear, then it might pull a decent launch.

I'm done here, this thread is getting into another pissing match. I said my piece and shared my experiences. Wish I had more time to drive my new SS, but today it's raining.

Too bad for Camarofest, wet day here.

I have owned alot of different cars and motorcycles and have been a member of several different clubs and forums and since getting on here a few months ago i have never seen a group of people that own and enjoy the same vehicles that are more arumentitive than the camaro group with the v6 vs v8 crap. Everyone owns and enjoys the same vehicle and they all buy either what they can afford or what best fits their needs so i just dont understand all of the infighting within the camaro community. Please forgive my outburst as i am still a new member but i just dont get it. Just my .02 cents. Oh and also IBTL

The 6 cylinder owners are always having to justify their purchaces, why dont you just keep quiet and drive it if thats your deal.
Even Chevys advertising says that the SS is made for the TRUE enthusiast. Look it up.
