Painting the steering wheel bezel

This is one I have been waiting for… painting the steering wheel bezel in carbon flash to match my other interior paint jobs. This leaves only two items in alum : the big hoop over the driver dash and the shifter bezel, both I want to still stay as is. From the other how-to on mounting one of the new $1000 dollar wheels, there is a explanation for the bezel , so here it is. Special thanks to Doc Holiday for helping.

1. disconnect neg lead on the vehicle batt

2. Behind the wheel are two very small holes – one on each side – use a small allen wrench or mini screwdriver to just push in and the airbag pops out

3. You then have a few connectors to take off and the bezel comes off easily. The airbag connector has safety clips that must be pulled out before the connector comes loose.

4. The wheel can stay on the car and you never have any problems putting this all back.

what did you do for the sanding polishing part?

spell out exactly what you did from start to finish...we can figure it out...

for polishing, I wait a week and just rub back and forth about 100 times with something like this polish. Cheaper that will work is Meg's scratch X 2.0 at the auto parts store too.
