I dunno, I think most folks prefer 4-strokes

I really miss my 2 stroke bikes and quads.

OK...so finally got a day where it didn't rain, it was a private rental, and I didn't have work booked in advance....miracle lol. I really wanted to get some seat time in during a private rental to shake down the new 15" setup plus see how the new Whipple is doing. To be honest, where the 15" setup is not balanced (PK Auto thought the wheel weights would hit the brake caliper...they're probably right as there is virtually no clearance between the barrel and the caliper), I was worried about how bad vibration would be at the big end of the track. If anyone has a solution, I'm listening...! In any event, when I got there I realized it was really windy...in the wrong direction lol... probably not putting down any great numbers into a 15 MPH headwind and a 2400 DA, but I really needed some track time...so I'm glad I went anyway!

First run was a "half boost" shakedown (Smoothboost at half setting, ~800 WHP), so 10.77@139. And yes there was some vibration from the new 15's at the big end but I think it's livable (if not a little unsettling). Second run was a full boost 1/8 mile run which was 6.32@116 which is roughly a 9.8 run in the quarter... meh...

Next run was 9.60@146.5 which was a personal best ET for me surprisingly despite the low MPH. Followed that up with a 9.62@148. As the day got warmer and DA creeping even higher, the car actually got a bit quicker. Next to last run was 9.57@148 so another PB time.

For the last run I pulled the insulation gasket off the RotoFab BG (where it seals to the hood) to test a hunch. The car responded with a 9.56@149, which was a gain of .7 MPH which I thought was interesting. Not sure at what power level the BG is no longer optimum, but maybe I'm getting there.

So, TLDR: I still want to see if there is something I can do to balance the 15" setup. And I'm looking forward to fall and racing in a DA number that doesn't look like the National Debt...

Not bad! I would remove the RF filter and run the Bellmouth at track. It's probably worth a 30-50whp on your setup at the big end.

Thanks! You’re probably right… I know the MAF table will need some work running that bell mouth but sounds like it’s well worth it.

What was your EOI at around 1000ft and after on each run? You weren’t close to out of fuel maybe and as it got hotter your injection window got better possibly.

I am getting close to the edge in fueling (5.7-5.9 IPW). I’ll have to take a look at EOI. Thanks for the help.

If it’s below 160-170 it’s down on power. With my +65’s I have just enough fuel on E55-E60 hitting 20psi. When my IPW’s are close to 6 my rail pressure is usually down 2-300 and my EOI is out of range.

Congrats, making progress. Fall weather is coming so you'll continue to improve.

His EOI is dipping in the 140's. Since Josh has the Fore low side, I suggested cranking the low side up to 85-90psi and the rail to 2500psi to see if that helps. Because right now he is on the edge with a lean afr of .86-87. If he can get the AFR to .84 and maintain a EOI above 150, I bet the car goes faster as is.

Wow, so at 140 EOI that explains why I’m not trapping any faster despite adding 100 WHP…

I’ve got my prescription from Dr. King and need to get on it ASAP!

Thanks! Even though I’ve got some more homework ahead of me to take that next step, it felt damn good to just go racing!
